James Calvin Wilkinson, 79, of Panama City, has taken his last flight on Wednesday, December 24, 2014. He was born on September 6, 1935 in Central Falls, Rhode Island. He retired from the United States Air Force after 28 years of service at the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. After retiring from the Air Force, he went to work for the civil service as a planning and estimating tech for 10 years. He participated in R.C. modeling Top Gun, where he placed as high as 6th overall during his 10 years there. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eliane Wilkinson. He is survived by his four children, Nancy, John, Mary, Randy; five grandchildren, Anthony, Ricky, Chris, Brittani, Lauren; two great grandchildren, Jonathan, Aaron; and one sister, Marjorie. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at the Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, January 5th from 6 – 8 p.m. The family would like to give special thanks to the Leonard John's and Carl Harris families, as well as the staff of Emerald Coast Hospice.
