James "Jimmy" Wilburn McNiel Sr., 79, passed away on November 9, 2024, in Lynn Haven, Florida. He was born on January 11, 1945. James dedicated his life to serving his community and cherishing his family.

James proudly served as a firefighter in Bay County, where his bravery and commitment to helping others were evident throughout his career. His dedication to his family was just as profound. He is survived by his son, James Wilburn McNiel II; grandchildren, Samantha (Trakell) Robinson, Amanda (Michael) Barbosa, and James Alan (Taira) McNiel; and great-grandchildren, Charlotte Medlock, Reginald McNiel, Leanna McNiel, Benjamin Barbosa, Rhett Robinson, Riley Robinson, and Christopher Barbosa. James was preceded in death by his parents, Vera and L.O. McNiel; his brother, L.E. McNiel; his wife, Gloria McNiel; and his great grandson Brady Medlock.

Visitation will be held at Wilson Funeral Home, Tuesday, November 12, 2024 from 5pm-7pm.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at 1 pm at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, where friends and family will gather to honor his memory and legacy.
