James
Sauls, Jr.
Nov 18, 1943 — Oct 4, 2026
Panama City
James Sauls, Jr., 82, of Panama City Beach, Florida, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 4th, 2026. James, a life-long resident of Bay County, was born on November 18, 1943, in Panama City, Florida to James Hampton Sauls and Eunice Sauls.
After graduating from Bay High School, James proudly served as a Panama City Beach Police Officer for over 30 years, finally retiring in 1996. On any given day, you could find him frying fish for his friends and loved ones, enjoying a day on Otter Creek fishing for bass, or spending time with his church family. James, a dedicated member of the Corner Stone Baptist Church, would most love to be remembered as a devout follower of Jesus Christ.
James was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 46 years, Joanna Sauls; his twin brother, Lamar Sauls; his parents, James Hampton and Eunice Sauls; his fur babies, Pooh Bear (Red Dog) and Lulu; and several close friends.
He is survived by his son, Rick Sauls, of Georgia; his daughter, Lisa Whitman, of Panama City Beach, Florida; his grandchildren, Drake Whitman (Casey) and Kyra Fritze (Wyatt); his great-granddaughters, Jenova and Emma Whitman; his fur baby, Bear; his close friend, Patty; and several more friends whom he loved dearly.
The family will be holding a private service as James had asked for. He would have wanted everyone to enjoy some fried fish, listen to the word of God, or spend time with friends and family rather than a funeral.
