James Marvin Rowe III (Marvin), 71 of Panama City Beach FL, passed away on May 29, 2021. He was born Feb 17, 1950 in Birmingham, Al.
Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Marvin and his wife Tina were the love of each other's life for over 49 years, raising four beautiful children and ten grandchildren. Marvin grew up in Vincent, Alabama and had a wonderful life with his family and friends on the family farm, Roweling Acres, before relocating to Panama City Beach, FL in 1998. His accomplishments are many, but he especially enjoyed his career in the maritime industry and just recently retired in U.S. Army Garrison, Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands as Captain of the USAV Worthy. Prior to moving to the Marshall Islands, he was Captain of the R/V Athena and the R/V Athena II in Panama City Beach. Marvin was the center of his family and his crew, both on the water and off.
Survived by: His wife Tina Capley Rowe, children: Kimberly R. Rudovsky (John), James Marvin (Jay) Rowe IV (Shelbi), Lorri Rowe, Crystal Brown (Rick). Sister Deborah R. Pearson (David); Grandchildren – Sophia Shaffer, Addison Rudovsky, Caleb Rowe, Sam Rowe and Molli Rowe, Madison Anderson (Austin), Brianna Brown, Eli Brown, Elizabeth Brown, Ricky Brown. Marvin adored all his family including his many nieces, nephews and cousins. He treated all people regardless of race, stature and or social class with love and respect. He was loved and respected by so many friends throughout his life and career.
Predeceased by his parents Jimmy and Lorraine Rowe and sister Marilyn Rowe.
The family will receive guests on Friday, June 4, 2021 at Wilson Funeral Home in Panama City, FL from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m., followed by a memorial service in the chapel at 11. Graveside services will be held Saturday, June 5 at 2:00 p.m. at the Rowe Family Cemetery, County Hwy 60, Vincent Al.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Samaritan's Purse, Salvation Army or Vincent First United Methodist Church.
