Rev. James Raphael "Ray" Mead Jr., 73, formerly of Panama City, passed away on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 in Virginia Beach, VA.
He was born September 27, 1942 in Newark, New Jersey. He was a retired Assembly of God minister. He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Joyce Mead. He is survived by a daughter, Alicia Anne Shaver (Michael); 2 grandchildren, Jonah Shaver, Camden Shaver; brother, Carl Mead (Jeanette); nephew, Mark Mead (Diana) and a niece, Cheryl Laird. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bobby Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in the Millville Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service.
