James E. "Jimmy" Rains, Sr., 86, of Panama City, passed away Saturday, June 27, 2009 in South Carolina. He was born July 19, 1922 in Rockhold, Kentucky. He served in the U.S. Air Force during WWII. He was the owner and operator of past business Jimmy Rains Service Stations and Jimmy Rains Realty. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Munn Rains and two brothers, Coyt Rains in Ohio and Fayt Rains in Indiana. He is survived by two sons, James E. "Jim" Rains, Jr. and wife Beth, of Panama City, Ronald K. Rains, of Denver, CO; daughter, Donna Gail Gottschall, of Greer, SC; six grandchildren, James E. Rains, III., Lesley Diane Rains, Brandon Gottschall and wife Erin, Jordan Gottschall, Ashton Gottschall and Darren Gottschall. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5 – 6:30 p.m.
