Please join friends and family as we celebrate the incredible life of James Terrell "Jimbo" Strickland, 61, of Panama City, FL, who passed unexpectedly on August 14, 2017. Jimbo was born in Defuniak Springs, FL, the favorite child of Joseph Ian and Eunice Strickland. He is survived by 4 siblings; Francis, Fred, Joseph, and Betty.

Jimbo served his country with honor and distinction for 22 years. After enlisting in the US Army at the age of 17, he served at posts around the world.  He earned the rank of 1st Sergeant, and was a Master Parachutist and Pathfinder. "Pappy" is survived by many of his brothers at Charlie company 1/509th.  "All The Way"

In 1975, Jimbo married his high school sweetheart, Theresa Benefield. They have two children, Jamie (Kynice) and Lisa (Nelson), 4 grandchildren: Sydnie, Lance, Elliot, and Beaudy, and a late in life child, Austin.  As a husband, father, and grandfather, Jimbo was unparalleled. He will be missed forever.

Jimbo has served as Vice President of Brock Lawn and Pest Control since 2003. He was a State Certified Pest Control Operator and he served as the Florida Pest Management Association regional director and board member for 4 terms. In addition to his professional responsibilities, Jim worked diligently to support local charitable organizations including the Wounded Warrior Project, Fisher House, and One Blood.

Services will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2017, at 1:00pm, at The Point Washington United Methodist Church, Point Washington, FL.  A Reception will follow at The Strickland House, Point Washington Florida.
