JAMES ANDREW "JIM" BROWN
James Andrew "Jim" Brown, 70, of Panama City, passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2012 in his home. He was born October 10, 1941 in Geneva, Alabama. He graduated from Bay High School in 1960 and Gulf Coast Community College in 1962. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Vietnam War. He worked for 22 years as the superintendent of waste water in Lee County, Florida. He was preceded in death by his father, A.C. Brown. He is survived by his mother, Jeanette Elam; son, Michael Shane Brown; brother, John C. Brown (Brenda); the love of his life, his dog, Harley; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2 – 3 p.m. prior to the service. A graveside service will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Friday at Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola, FL. Those desiring may make memorial donations to Covenant Hospice or to the Center of Hope c/o St. Andrew Baptist Church in memory of James Brown.
