JAMES ROLLINS HASTINGS

James Rollins Hastings, 81, of Lynn Haven, passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2007. He was born on January 17, 1926 in Hueytown, Alabama. He was the owner and operator of the Treasure Island and Sun Glo Motels on Panama City Beach and of J.R. Hastings Construction. He was also the owner of the Oakmont Apartments. He was former president of the Motel and Restaurant Association of Panama City Beach and a member of the Panama City Church of Christ. He served in the U.S. Navy and fought during WWII. He was preceded in death by his brother, Bill Hastings and sister, Amelia Roy. He is survived by his wife, Frances Hastings, son, Stephen Hastings and his wife, Debra, of Palmetto, FL, daughter, Leanne Schaffer and her husband, Charles, of Panama City, six grandchildren, Holly Keen and her husband, Jimmy, Courtney Hastings, Kenny Hastings, Amber Pliscofsky and her husband, Mike, James Burks and his wife, Gracie, Katrina Roe and her husband, Mike, 12 great grandchildren, two brothers, William Hastings and his wife, Lurline, Lewis Hastings and his wife, Betty, two sisters, Beulah Glasgow, Ruby Gerst, numerous nieces and nephews, sister-in-law, Mary Burris, two brothers-in-law, Douglas Rosser and James Robert Rosser. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 6 – 8 p.m.
