James Nathan Grantham, Sr.

It is with deepest sadness and much love that we said good-by to our beloved husband, father, son, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather, James Nathan Grantham, Sr. as he left us to be with his Father, Our Lord, on Thursday, August 14th, 2008.

He fought a courageous battle with a positive attitude and never gave up the good fight. He leaves a place in our hearts that can never truly be filled, but are full of wonderful memories and a great love of family.

Jim was born September 19th, 1936 to James Samuel and Mamie Taylor Grantham. He was the oldest of two children.
His sister Mary Ann Wilson resides in Panama City, Fla. He also has a step sister, Nancy Hunter, who has always been a part of our family.

He leaves behind his bride of 52 years, Sandra K. Grantham. They have five children, Joyce A.G.
Dugan, Patricia G. Crumley, James (Skip) Nathan Grantham, Jr., Tracy Hawver Grantham, Kathryn L. Francis. They also have 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Jim was preceded in death by his mother, Mamie Dean, who passed away three weeks earlier and his father, James S. Grantham, in 1955.

Our family wishes to thank the staff at Bay Medical third floor MICU with a special thank you to Jodi Hagans and Geri Webb for making it a bit easier for us to say good bye.

We also would like to give our much felt appreciation to Covenant Hospice. They are the most courageous people we know.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Covenant Hospice, 107 W. 19th Street,
Panama City, FL 32405 in memory of Jim Grantham.

A short viewing and service will be held at Wilson Funeral Home Sunday @ 10:30 a.m. with a short service after the viewing.

James will be buried in Warner Robins, Ga. where his wife will reside.
