James Joseph Giles, 91, of Panama City, passed away on Monday, February 01, 2016. He was born November 7, 1924 in McKeesport, Pennsylvania. He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II and in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War retiring at the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. After retiring from the Air Force, he opened Professional Court Reporting Service Inc. and Giles Investigations. Jim was actively involved in the Veterans community, VFW Post 8205 and was a member of the Amazing Grace Lutheran Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Jerome & Catherine Elizabeth Giles; first wife; Doris Marie Carlson Giles; three brothers, Raymond Giles, Jerry Giles, Richard Giles; and a sister, JoAnne Keenan. He is survived by his wife, Ann Giles; seven children, Anita Arnold (Johnny); Jeffrey Giles; Laurie Jernigan (Jimmy); Donald Giles (Rhonda); Catherine Ann Aldea; Kimberly Klunk (Mark); Kay Taylor (Darryl); three brothers, Edward Giles (Audrey); Tom Giles (Julie); Bill Giles (Brenda); sister, Catherine Sebastian (Lou); sisters-in-law, Mary Giles, Betty Giles; 22 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Daniel Burgess officiating. Interment will follow in the Forest Lawn Cemetery with military honors conducted at the graveside. Active pallbearers will be his grandsons.
