James E. Phillips
James E. "Jimmy" Phillips, 88, of Parker went to be with his Lord on October 20, 2013. He was preceded by his dear wife, Mildred S. Phillips. He is survived by his beloved son Jim and family, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was also blessed with many wonderful friends.
He was a Navy combat veteran who served in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He retired from the Florida Division of Forestry after a long career as a ranger and supervisor. He also served his community for many years as a member and officer of the Parker Volunteer Fire Department.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Parker Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the United Methodist Children's Home of Alabama and West Florida, 3140 Zelda Court Montgomery, AL 36106 or the donor's church of choice.
