James Ashley "Jim" Cherry, 60, of Panama City, passed away Thursday, December 2, 2010 in his home. He was born October 1, 1950 in Washington, NC to Agnes and Ashley Roberson Cherry. Jim was a dedicated community leader during his career as president of several Chambers of Commerce throughout the southeast. A beloved father, grandfather, husband, brother and friend, he is survived by his wife, Lynn Gager Cherry; two children, James Matthew Cherry, wife Angela, and Katie Leigh Cherry; stepson, Johnathon Thomas Gager; and two grandchildren, Dylan Matthew Cherry and Tanner James Cherry. He is also survived by two sisters, Jean Moses and Pattie Bethune. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel.
