JAMES JOSEPH "JJ" BECKER

Mr. James Joseph "JJ" Becker entered into eternal rest on Monday, September 15, 2008 at Bay Medical Center in Panama City. He was born March 6, 1939 in Philadelphia, Pa. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, James and Marie Becker and daughter, Deborah Becker. JJ leaves to cherish his loving memories to his wife Patricia. He leaves behind three sons, Wayne Becker, Jason Davis and his wife Tabitha, Cliff Davis, and a daughter Donna Benson. His sister Eileen Lish, and favorite brother in law Roger Hogan. He also leaves behind 8 grandchildren and 7 nieces and nephews.

JJ served in the United States Navy for 26 years. Among numerous other medals JJ received a bronze star with three tours in Vietnam as an EOD Diver. Following his military service he worked 16 years as a civil service employee. He was an active member of the FRA Branch 346, VFW 10555, Amvets Post 47 all in Panama City Beach, and the American Legion Post 356 in Lynn Haven.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 10 – 11 a.m. prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Fleet Reserve Association #346, 2117 Wilkinson Ave, Panama City Beach, FL 32408.
JJ also requested that he would like to thank the staff in MICU at Bay Medical, and a special thank you to Dr. McKenzie and his nurse Cindy.
