James "Jim" Arthur Baker, 76, formerly of Panama City, passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2020 in Dothan, AL. He was born on December 13, 1943 in Columbus, GA, and had been a resident of Panama City since 1973. He retired from Arizona Chemical Company in 1998 after 23 years of service. He was a member of Hiland Park Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Hilton and Margaret Merle Baker; one sister, Gail Burggren and a grandson, Mitchell Idema. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Glennell "Nell" Baker; three children, Tina Cottengim, (James), Kelli Baker, Brent Baker; eight grandchildren, Christopher Sutton, Gabriel Cottengim, Wylie A Mathis Jr., Ashley Mathis, Harlie Baker, Joshua Baker, Cassie Baker, Gabriel Baker; two great grandchildren, Matthew Isaacs, Camilla Mathis; one sister, Brenda Hughes; one brother, Thomas Baker (Shirlene). A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 27, 2020 at 11 am in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Hiland Park Baptist Church, 2611 North Hwy 231, Panama City, FL 32405 in memory of James "Jim" Baker.
