James Roy Andrews,87, of Panama City, FL passed away on Monday, August 28, 2023. He was born on January 21, 1936 in Enterprise, AL to Chester and Foye Andrews. He was a 1954 graduate from Bay High School and then went on to serve in the National Guard for 4 years. Roy worked for 35 years at the Piggly Wiggly in St. Andrews, retiring as a manager. He then went to work for the Bay County School System as a Courier for 15 years. Roy was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette Murphy Andrews and daughter-in-law, Kathy Andrews. He is survived by two children, Walter Andrews, Pam Walters (Johnny); four grandchildren, Jamie Andrews, Kyle Andrews, Ryan Walters, Kim Ray (Cam); six great grandchildren, Lucy Andrews, Haley Walker, Carlee Walters, Noah Jordan, Jonah Ray, Ella Ray; two brothers, Mack Andrews and Jack Andrews (Jan). Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 1, 2023 at 1 pm at St. Andrew Assembly of God Church. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 12 noon - 1 pm prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial donations to Covenant Hospice in memory of James Roy Andrews.
