James (Jim) Albert Buynak age 70 of Panama City Beach, FL passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday,  May 24, 2023.  He was born at Norfolk, VA  on January 6, 1953 to John and Olive Buynak.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Olive S. Buynak and brother, John E. Buynak, Jr..

He is survived by his father, John E. Buynak, Sr. of Panama City Beach, FL.  His brother, Larry R. Buynak and wife Barbara of Albuquerque, NM, brother Gary W. Buynak of Panama City Beach, Fl, Brother Mark H. Buynak of Apopka, FL and sister Deborah J. Buynak of Ocoee, FL and 5 nieces.

Jim graduated from Sandia High School in Albuquerque, NM.  He joined the Navy in 1971 and served for 4 years.  After being discharged from the Navy, he moved to Panama City where he attended Gulf Coast College.   Jim worked for Freedom Newspapers in Panama City, Colorado Springs and Orlando. Jim also worked for US Air/ American Airlines in LasVegas, NV, Portland, ME and Charlotte, NC. Jim made many friends everywhere he worked.

Jim enjoyed Major League Baseball and traveled to all MLB ball parks.  He enjoyed off-beat activities and travel.  He once flew to Spain to participate in the La Tomatina de Bunol, a city wide tomato fight.  He learned to scuba dive so he could dive the Great Barrier Reef in Australia.  He attended many MLB games, playoffs and World Series.

A private family service will be held at the Florida National Cemetery at Bushnell, FL at a later date.  He will be interned at the Florida National Cemetery.
