JACKLYN VERA FEROL

Jacklyn (Miss Jackie) Vera Ferol, 96, of Panama City, died Saturday, December 13, 2008. She had been a resident here for 15 years, moving here from Ebro, Florida. She was Baptist by faith and a talented seamstress. She was the owner and operator of the Corral Restaurant in Ebro. She was instrumental in the development of Highway 20 from Highway 79 to Highway 231 and also in the establishment of Ebro as a municipality. She also served on the Ebro City Counsel and helped to establish Ebro Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph H. and Pearlie Mae Miller Strickland, four brothers, Broward, Lester, Jamie, and Coy Strickland, two sisters, Mallie Sanders and Ila Blair and special niece, Jackie Blair. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Coatney of Panama City, her son, Joe Ferolito of Tallahassee, two granddaughters, Trish Phillips and Pam Elliott of Fort Worth, Texas, two grandsons, Frank Coatney Jr. of Panama City and Joey Ferolito of Dallas, Texas, 10 great grandchildren, 15 great great grandchildren and 5 nieces and one nephew. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Key officiating. Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. in the Ebro Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Those desiring to may make contributions to Cedar Grove Baptist Church Building Fund, 2608 East 15th Street, Panama City, Florida 32405 in memory of Jacklyn Vera Ferol.
