Jack W. Kirkland, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on September 18, 2025, surrounded by his family. He lived a full life defined by love of family, hard work, and a deep love for the outdoors.
Jack grew up in Holmes County, Florida, working alongside his family on their farm. In 1957, he won the title of Florida State Tractor Driving Champion — an accomplishment that reflected his skill and determination, even at a young age.
He was married to his beloved wife, Patricia Kirkland, for 67 years. Together they raised their children: Jack Kirkland Jr. (wife Terri), Phillip Kirkland (wife Jodie), and Chris Kirkland (friend Cindy Smith). Jack was immensely proud of his grandchildren: Hayley Adkins (husband Kyle), Karlee Kirkland, Jenna Kirkland, Paige Kirkland, Kerri Jenkins (husband Jerrod), and Chase Kirkland. He loved spending time with his great-grandchildren: Daylon Richard, Brennen Richard, Layken Jenkins, Jase Kirkland, Phillip Kirkland, Preston Kirkland, and Blakely Adkins.
For 37 years, Jack worked at Arizona Chemical Company, from which he retired as a Superintendent in 1996. Known for his steady leadership and dedication, he earned the respect of colleagues and friends alike. Beyond his career, Jack devoted himself to his community by coaching youth baseball for many years, shaping the lives of countless young men and leaving a lasting impact both on and off the field.
Jack's greatest joys were found in the simple things—hunting, fishing, and, above all, spending time with his family. Whether in the woods, on the water, or gathered at home, his presence was the anchor of many cherished memories.
A memorial service to honor Jack's life will be held on October 11, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Deerpoint Lake.
Jack will be remembered for his unwavering love of family, his quiet strength, and the way he lived his life with generosity and devotion. His legacy lives on through those who were fortunate enough to know and love him.
