Jack Hagler was born February 17, 1932 in Bay Harbor to Bernie and Ida Hagler and died peacefully in his home on June 17, 2016. He attended Millville School and Bay County High School. In 1951 he married Julia Mae Vickers and they were happily married for 61 years. He and Julia attended First Baptist Church, Panama City where he was a member of Ed Grant's Sunday School Class. After 44 years of dedicated service to the Panama City Paper Mill, he retired as Supervisor of the power plant. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Bernie Jr. and Herman and his beloved wife Julia Mae. He is survived by daughter Allison Mizell (Paxton), son Frank Hagler (Pam) and son Gary Hagler; sisters Dollie Smitherman, Ollie B. Eldridge and brother Billy Hagler (Karen); brother-in-law Tom Vickers (Imogene); grandchildren Kristina Mizell Williams (Curtis), Jared Mizell, Mary Hagler Buchenhorst, Jack Hagler III (Jennifer), Christopher Barefoot (Brandi); eight great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Asked to serve as pallbearers Jared Mizell, Jack Hagler III, Christopher Barefoot, Andy Poole, Paul Edmondson, and Ed Grant. Jack loved Howard's Creek, FSU Football and the tomato fields. Sharing his homemade salsa, hot ketchup and fresh tomatoes brought him great joy. The family would like to thank Emerald Coast Hospice for their love and support. Visitation is 5:00-7:00 pm on Monday, June 20 at Wilson Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, June 21 at Greenwood Cemetery at 10:00 am with the Reverend Clyde Ellison officiating.
