JACK E. GUNTER
Jack E. Gunter, of Panama City Beach, Florida passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2013. Jack was born May 26, 1934 in Broughton, Illinois to the late William Henry Gunter and Maude Alice Robinson Gunter. Jack retired from the Navy and then served 10 years in the Merchant Marines. Jack loved to travel and he enjoyed reminiscing at his ship's reunions, when able to attend these events. Jack liked to attend the Evansville Otter Baseball games at Bosse Field. He was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Charles "Bud" Gunter and sister, Katherine Marie Gunter. Jack is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Margaret "Margie" Tislow Gunter, of Panama City Beach; daughter, Dana Garlick (Jerry) of Norris City, IL; three step daughters, Lisa Shelton (Donnie); Joni Wells of Panama City Beach, Jennifer Manning of Evansville; two sisters, Dorothy Adams, of Harrisburg, IL, Juanita Phillips (Donald) of Eldorado, IL; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Memorialization will be by cremation and no services will be held.
