ISADORE "ISE" SCHNEIDER
We are sad to announce the loss of our dear "Pop," Isadore (Ise) Schneider, who passed away on August 15, 2012 in Tallahassee.
Born October 29, 1919, he was a long-time resident of Panama City, FL where he lived with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Karl Schneider, brothers, Tobie and Max Schneider, and sister, Shirley Sonne. A graduate of Bay High and president of the class of 1937, he played for the Bay High football team and married his high school sweetheart, Myrt Pettus following graduation. He served as an officer with the Army Air Corps during WWII where he was both a pilot and a flight instructor, and spent years after the war working in the retail furniture business. A long-standing member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Tallahassee, he had a later career working for the Clerk of the Circuit Court, then spent years as a volunteer ranger at Hilaman Golf Course, playing golf there on his days off.
Pop was a man of many talents – a builder, carpenter, craftsman, gardener, baker, golfer, lover of jazz and classical music, a jokester and a giver of sage advice but, most of all, he was a man who had a great love for his family and made friends wherever he went.
He is survived by a loving family including three daughters, Carol Clements of Hiawassee, GA., Kathy Marchant and Tracie Schneider (Ben Green) of Tallahassee; five grand-children, Ted Watson (Karry Watson), Michelle Griffin (John Griffin), Brady Marchant, Emmy Schneider-Green and Eliza Schneider-Green; eight great-grandchildren, Jennifer Stelly (Jason Stelly), Stephanie Pacheco (Marcio Pacheco), T.J. Watson, John Paul Griffin, Maureen Griffin, Travis Marchant, Amanda Marchant and MaryKate Lamendola; and four great-great grandchildren, Aiden and Gavin Stelly and Gabriel and Isaiah Pacheco. He is also survived by his dear friend, Helen McBride, who shared so much love and happiness with him for the last six years of his life and who gave him the gift of joy.
We love you Pop.
The family will receive friends at Wilson Funeral Home on Saturday, August 18, from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. A graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
