IRENE RUSHING McGRIFF
Irene Rushing McGriff, 84, of Panama City, passed away Thursday, January 23, 2014. She was born December 16, 1929 in Bruce, Florida to Fred Lee Rushing Sr. and Lillian Ovill White Rushing. She was a retired cashier and manager of the Isle of View Drive-In Theatre, Panama Theatre and Ritz Theatre (Martin Theatre). She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, F. L. Rushing, Jr., Joseph Rushing, Charles Barry Rushing and three infant brothers. She is survived by her husband, James Richard McGriff, Sr.; two sons, Tim McGriff (Valine), Richard McGriff, Jr.; sister, Rosetta Watson; two brothers, Kenneth Jerry Rushing (Diane), James Lynn Rushing (Vickie); two sisters-in-law, Frances Simmons, Evelyn Rushing; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 1 – 2 p.m. prior to the service.
