Heaven Will Surely Be Worth It All for Ima Jean (Raffield) Evans who joined her Heavenly Father and family on June 10, 2022.  At the age of 82 years old, Ima passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving husband Alton Evans of 64 years and her devoted family.

Ima had a passion for the Gospel and shared the Word through song via TV and radio broadcasts in her early years of service.  In addition, she was an accomplished pianist who along with Alton supported her father's ministry throughout Bay County.  She was a member of First Baptist Church of Panama City, Florida.   Ima's love of flowers led to a career as a floral designer for more than 20 years.  Her career was secondary, however, to her role of being a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  Ima cherished her family.

Ima was preceded in death by her son, Steven Allen Evans; her parents, Reverend Coy and Bonnie Raffield; sisters, Betty Hammond and Ann Couchigian (Cooch); brothers, Bill Raffield and Charles Raffield.

Ima is survived by her husband, Alton Evans; three daughters, Pamela Jones (Steve), Cindy Bailey (Ray) and Kimberly Evans; six grandchildren, Wesley Jones (Crystal), Troy Evans, Jeremy Evans (Alison), Kyle Evans (Holly), Kayla Gibbens (Richard) and Evan Jones; seven great grandchildren, Justin, Leela, Shane, Ivy, Kinslea, Lawson, and Claire; brother-in- law Vern Hammond; and sister-in- law, Mrs. Evon Raffield; as well as extended family members.

We are thankful to God for our precious caregivers, Covenant Hospice team, Dr. Maria Parris, Nurse Valerie and Ascension staff.  All of you made it possible for our mom to fulfill her heart's desire to remain with her family until her Homegoing.

Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Clyde Ellison at Wilson Funeral Home on Thursday, June 16, 2022.  The family will receive friends at 10:00 am for visitation followed by a service at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
