HUGH PAUL JOHNSON
Hugh Paul Johnson, 70, of Lynn Haven, FL, died Sunday, May 20 at his home. He was born in Ft. Lewis, WA and lived on numerous military bases as the son of an Air Force officer. He graduated from Bay High in 1954 and the United States Military Academy (USMA) West Point, NY in 1958. He received a Masters Degree - Civil Engineering in 1964 from Ohio State University and a Masters in Environmental and Urban Planning from the University of Virginia in 1988. He was an officer in the Army Corp of Engineers serving in Hawaii, South Pacific Survey Mission, Department of Mathematics USMA, Viet Nam, Deputy District Engineer Lower Mississippi Valley Division, Fort Hood TX, HQs MASSTER, Deputy Corps Engineer 3 Corp, HQ, EUCOM-Germany, Defense Mapping School-Fort Belvoir, VA, Chief of Staff, HQs Defense Mapping Agency-Washington D.C, and Director, Defense Mapping Agency Hydrographic-Topographic Agency-Maryland.
He is a member and active in the congregation of Holy Nativity Episcopal Church.
Paul is survived by his loving wife, Paula Talbert Johnson, four children- Paul Johnson Jr. of Grapevine, Texas, Melissa Talbert McDonell, of San Carlos, CA, Jay Ki1crest Johnson of Crimora, VA, and Aimee Linn Froling of Aquia, VA, seventeen grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Paul is also survived by his brothers, Roger K. Johnson, Jay K. Johnson and David C. Johnson. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 24, at 10 a.m. in Holy Nativity Episcopal Church - Bonita Avenue- Panama City, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Paul's name to the Christian Education Fund at Holy Nativity Episcopal Church, The Long Term Improvement Fund at Holy Nativity Episcopal School or the Panama City Rescue Mission. Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery.
