HOWARD "H.B." HILL
Lt. Colonel (Ret) Howard "H.B." Hill, 87, of Panama City, passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2009. He was born March 17, 1922 in Charleston, West Virginia. He served as a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army, retiring in 1967 after 30 years of service. He was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Angus Hill, mother, Margaret Gardner Hill, brother, Samuel Hill, sister, Frances Conley and step-son, Brent Ray Kesling. He is survived by his wife, Jowann Hill; step-daughter, Thresa Shelton and husband, Lamar, of Huntsville, AL; three grandchildren, Mike Chapman, Sean Johnson, Breezy Shelton; three great grandchildren, Tana, Isaiah, Scotty; nephew, Samuel Hill, Andy Hill; cousin, Dr. Richard "Dick" Gardner; niece, Sandra Carter and sister-in-law, Neva Ruth Hill. A memorial service will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be held at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery. Those desiring may make memorial donations to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in memory of Howard Hill.
