HORACE C. SMITH

Horace C. Smith, 91, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, August 11, 2009. He is survived by his wife, Eloise, who has been his very best friend for over 68 years; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and Tony Finnell of Villa Rica, GA, and Janice and Van Johnson of Montgomery, AL; one son and daughter-in-law, Cleve and Kim Smith of Lincoln, NE; one brother and sister-in-law, A.C. and Jean Smith of Panama City, FL. He was blessed with nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Horace was a veteran of WWII and retired from the Florida National Guard with 31 years of service. He faithfully served the Lord and was a deacon for many years of his life. Horace leaves a legacy of service, love, and a passion for sharing the gospel with those who do not know Jesus Christ. The family invites you to join them in celebrating this life and legacy at the funeral service scheduled for Saturday, August 15, 2009, at 2 o'clock from Grace Baptist Church, 2745 Highway 77, Panama City, FL. Pastor Cleve Smith (son) and Pastor Mike Jones will officiate. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday night, August 14, 2009, from 6 to 8 o'clock at Wilson Funeral Home.
