Horace Everett Mathis, 73, of Panama City, passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2022.  He was born July 3, 1948 in Panama City.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey D. & Marjorie Mathis; sister, Marjorie Dee Redding; brother, Harvey Patrick Mathis and a sister-in-law, Beth Mathis.  He is survived by two brothers, William Russ Mathis (Sally); Charlie E. Mathis; sister-in-law, Bernadette Mathis; brother-in-law, Ben Redding and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Horace was a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church of Panama City.  Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 30, 2022 at 3 p.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ron Brown officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-3 p.m. prior to the service.  Private family graveside services will be held on Monday, January 31, 2022 in the Forest Lawn Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial donations be made to Special Olympics, 1915 Don Wickham Dr, Clermont, FL 34711, First Presbyterian Church, 100 East 7th Street, Panama City, FL 32401 or to any handicap organization of your choice in memory of Horace Mathis.
