Obituary

Hilda Casebier Dexter of Panama City passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 22, 2014.  She was born December 2, 1922 in Central City, Kentucky.  During World War II, she and her sister, Virginia, moved to Evansville, Indiana to work at Hoosier Stamp and Lamp making sighting domes for bombers. In 1950, she and her husband, Scott W "Bill" Dexter, relocated to Panama City with Southern Bell Company.  She retired in 1979 with over thirty-five years of service.  Mrs. Dexter was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Panama City, a former member to the Woman's Club of Panama City and a volunteer for Bay Medical Auxiliary.  She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Woodyard and husband John of Panama City Beach; granddaughters, Caroline Scott Woodyard of Panama City Beach, Anna Woodyard Denmark and husband Brad of Port Wentworth, Georgia and their son, Asher Scott Denmark; and one nephew, Thomas Lynn Hall of Lexington, Kentucky.  The family would like to thank Dr. Vickie Harrell and staff, Sterling House of Panama City and Community Health and Rehabilitation Center, a special friend, Mrs. Bobbie Andrews as well as the dedicated staff of Emerald Coast Hospice.  The family will receive friends at Wilson Funeral Home on Friday, April 25 from 4 – 6 p.m.  Interment will be held at a later date at Rose Hill Cemetery, Central City, Kentucky. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Panama City, Emerald Coast Hospice or to the Rescue Mission of Panama City.
