HELYN-LETCHER KEISER SPARKS
Helyn-Letcher Keiser Sparks of Bay Point, Florida, and Fairfield Glade, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, February 16, 2009 at home. She was born on October 12, 1921 to Mr. & Mrs. Frank B. Keiser, Jr., in Birmingham, Alabama. Her husband, James B. Sparks, predeceased her on January 12, 1999. Mrs. Sparks graduated from Birmingham Southern College, Birmingham, AL, and was a member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority. Her professional career included Director of Hostess of Hostess Service, Southern Railway Systems, Washington, D.C., followed by secretary to the Vice President of the World Bank, Mr. Mohamed Shoaib, Washington, D.C. This latter employment enabled her to travel around the world, which travels, she and her husband, "Sparky" continued after their early retirement. Mrs. Sparks leaves a niece, Ann Linginfelter and husband, V.W. and family of Lenoir City, TN, nephews, Harry Sparks and family of Knoxville, TN, Tom Trent and family of Brentwood, TN, and cousins, Eben Haskell and her daughter, Erica Haskell, of CA, Dorothy Hodges of Augusta, GA and many good friends including, Fran and John Kinnunen. Mr. & Mrs. Sparks requested that their mingled ashes be scattered along the Panama City Beach. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, February 21 from 2 – 4 p.m. at the Regency Towers.
