Helen Kuhnhein Kruse (Mrs. Foster H. Kruse)

Helen Kuhnhein Kruse, of Panama City, FL, passed away Monday, May 25, 2009. Mrs. Kruse was born in Newport, Kentucky. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Kuhnhein, moved to Indiana in 1920. She was educated in Indiana, a graduate of Indiana Business College and married Foster Henry Kruse in 1937. The Kruse family moved to Panama City in 1938 and was active in the business community for many years.
Mr. Kruse passed away in 1998 and she is survived by their daughter, Elizabeth Ann Percival and husband, Timothy William Percival; two nephews, Geoffrey Thomas Bushor and wife, Mary of Evanston, Illinois; Dr. Robert Francis Kuhnhein and wife, Robin of Temple, Texas, and a beloved housekeeper Dollie Mae Douglas.

Mrs. Kruse was active in church, civic and cultural activities during her lifetime.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church. In 1941, she was an organizer and charter member of the Panama City Music Association, having served as the first membership drive chair. During her lifetime, she was President of the Cove School PTO, 1946-1947 President of the Junior Women's Club, Honorary Member of the Junior Service League since its formation in 1951, at the formation of the Bay County Library served on the first "book selection" committee, one of the organizers of the Girl Scouts in Panama City and leader of the first "Brownie Scout Troop", charter member of Petit Point and As You Like It luncheon clubs, former member of the St. Andrews Bay Yacht Club Auxiliary, member of Gulf Coast Community College Foundation and its President's Club, and lifetime member of the Muncie Central High School Alumni Association.

Girls, Inc.,1100 Fountain Avenue, Panama City, FL 32401 or the charity of your choice. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. EDT on Thursday, May 28, 2009 in the Kruse Family Plot, Beechgrove Cemetery, in Muncie, Indiana.
