Helen Merrell Gray, 86, of Panama City Beach, passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2019 in her home. She was born September 8, 1932 in Birmingham, Alabama, the daughter of Isaac & Laura Merrell. In her younger years, Helen was a swimsuit model for Myrt's Swimwear and Smith's Ladies Shop. She was the owner of Barnacles Barney's Convenience Store & Gifts on Panama City Beach. She was a longtime member of Woodlawn United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School and sang in the church choir. She was a Master Judge and member of the Gulf Beach Garden Club. Helen was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, David Merrell. She is survived by three daughters, Janet Gray (John Davis); Carol Gray Hall and Dana Gray (Ben Heath). Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Conrad Meadows officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial donations be made to the Michael J.
