HELEN SOWELL COOK
Helen Sowell Cook, 81, of Panama City, died Saturday, July 07, 2007 in her home. She was born September 29, 1925 in Panama City. She was a secretary at Southport Elementary School for 28 years retiring in 1990. She was preceded in death by her husband, Buford Leroy Cook and her son, Ray Cook. She is survived by 2 daughters, Barbara Thomas and husband, Bill of Panama City; Michelle Grippe of Olympia, WA; 2 sons, John Cook and wife, Diane of Albuquerque, NM; James Cook of Panama City; 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 2 sisters, Hazel Hobbs; Lillian Knight, both of Panama City; brother, Harry Sowell and wife, Linda of Wewahitchka, FL and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Floyd Wright officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday. Those desiring may make a contribution to Covenant Hospice, 107 W. 19th St., Panama City, FL 32405.
