HAZEL WHATLEY SHORES

Hazel Whatley Shores, 89, of Panama City, died Tuesday, March 27, 2007 in a local nursing home. She was born on October 24, 1917 in Houston County, Alabama. She had been a resident of Panama City since 1948, moving here from Cottondale, Florida. She was a member of the St. Andrew Baptist Church, Panama City Garden Club and the national association of Letter Carriers Women's Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Minnie Whatley. She is survived by her husband, William Herbert Shores, daughter, Avis Shores Keen, granddaughter, Natalie Keen, all of Panama City and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 10 – 11 a.m. prior to the service. Those desiring may make memorial donations to the St. Andrew Baptist Church Music Fund, 3010 W 15th Street, Panama City, FL 32401 in memory of Hazel Shores.
