George "Hayden" Helms Jr., 72, of Lynn Haven, passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2017 in his home.  He was born March 6, 1944 at Tyndall A.F.B.   As a lifetime resident he was a retired boat captain and part owner and operator of Anderson-Helms Boats, Inc. and Clipper Supply fleet. He was a wonderful brother and a loving, caring father to his children and grandchildren.  He enjoyed watching them play sports and spending time with his family. Hayden was preceded in death by his parents, George Hayden Helms Sr. and Ruth Lillian Pledger Helms.  He is survived by 4 children, George Hayden "Trey" Helms III; Stephen Walter "Steve" Helms (Carla); Thomas "Scott" Helms (Tiffany); Elizabeth Lois "Lizzie" Mundy (Keith); 10 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 3 brothers, Donald Helms (Barbara); Mike Helms (Karen); Ken Helms (Jean); sister, Rhetta Stanley (David); and numerous nieces and nephews.  Private family graveside services will be held at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.  In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association or to the American Diabetes Association in memory of Hayden Helms Jr.
