HARRY S. MEINTS
Harry S. Meints, 89, of Panama City, died March 14, 2008 in the Sims VA Nursing Home. He was a retired Veterans Counselor for IMA in Flint, Michigan. He served in the United States Army Air Corps, serving during World War II, earning a Purple Heart and Silver Star. He had been a resident here since 1977, moving here from Flint, Michigan. He was Past Commander of the American Legion, and a member of the DAV, the Military Order of the Purple Heart. He was a charter member of the Farnumwood Presbyterian Church in Flint, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Kathleen Meints. He is survived by son, Michael Meints and wife Mary, 6 grandchildren, Kathleen Beaty and husband Eric, Lisa Suprise and husband Coy, Gina Gall, Kevin Gall, Megan Meints, Sondra Meints, 2 great grandchildren, Morgan Beaty and Madelyn Beaty, 2 brothers, Donald Meints and wife Dorian, Peter Meints and wife Eileen, 2 sisters, Dorothy Brandon and Kathleen Glazar, sister-in-law, Mary Elizabeth Skinner, brother-in-law, John Jay and wife Betty, numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Forest Lawn Cemetery with Brother Ron Ball officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2012 A Lisenby Avenue, Panama City, Florida 32405 in memory of Harry Meints.
