Obituary

Harold Eugene Pyle, 90, of Panama City, Florida, passed away September 16, 2019. He was born March 25, 1929 in Columbus, Georgia. He served in the United States Air Force for 21 years. During his service he also volunteered at every state he was stationed in, which was 11 states and 4 foreign countries. He also was a volunteer at Bay Medical Center. He loved volunteering but the two places he loved the most was Bay Medical Center and being chairman of the Fresh Air Fund in Rome, New York. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church where he served as Deacon Emeritus. He loved his country, family and his church passionately.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Durward and Vivian Pyle; and daughter, Peggy Harper. He is survived by his wife, Rotha Pyle; grandson, Chuck Hopkins and wife Torie; two great grandchildren, Bryant Hopkins and Kadence Hopkins; sister, Patricia Barrett; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Clyde Ellison officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m.
