Gypsy Wotring of Panama City, Florida, passed away on 25 November 2016 from complications of heart disease. She was 81. She was born on March 7, 1935 in War, West Virginia, the daughter of Rissie Cansada Dillon and Thomas Jackson Brewster. Gypsy is survived by her daughter Christy and son Tom, Jr. (Joan). She was predeceased by her husband, retired Colonel John Thomas "Tom" Wotring; and her sisters Helen Matilda Brewster; Nancy Beatrice Brewster; Mabel Lucille Brewster; Mildred Eileen Brewster; Peggy Anne Brewster; and Alice Freda Brewster. She was also predeceased by her brothers Edgar Jack Brewster; Robert Dillon Brewster; Hubert Brewster; and Walter Carr Brewster.

Gypsy was a 1953 graduate of Big Creek High School in War, West Virginia, and worked as a radiology and medical assistant.

She married Tom in 1954 and they formed an inseparable bond. They lived at ten different Air Force bases during Tom's career before retiring to Panama City in 1982. During their travels, she became a gourmet cook; tireless volunteer; and supported Tom in his career. Gypsy was a devoted wife and mother, and she and Tom made a dynamic team.

Gypsy followed politics avidly, and was deeply interested in Russian history and art. She dearly loved her family and many friends. She had a quick wit, a great sense of style, and a generous heart.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Humane Society of Bay County, 1600 Bay Ave, Panama City, FL 32405.

Visitation will be held on November 30th at Wilson Funeral Home, 214 Airport Road, Panama City, from 4 pm until time of service at 6pm.

Burial will take place at Arlington National Cemetery on a date to be determined.
