Gwendolyn Glenn Lawrence, 94, of Panama City, FL passed away on Monday, September 18, 2023. She died at home surrounded by her family after suffering a stroke. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ferrell B. Lawrence. She is survived by six children, David A. Lawrence (Dina), Aletha L. Carr, Bonnie L. Pratt (Alan), Mary L. Green (Mark), Katie L. Baker (Mike), Ben Lawrence (Marin), nine grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

Gwen was born in Whittier, CA, to Grady Glenn and Lorraine Longacre Glenn.  She grew up in Abilene, TX, and attended Abilene Christian College where she met her husband.   Gwen and Ferrell relocated to Tallahassee, FL, while Ferrell completed his studies at Florida State University and subsequently moved their growing family to Panama City, FL, where she resided for more than 70 years.  She worked for 52 years as a Dental Assistant and Office Manager for Neal Goss Jr., DDS.  During her time in Panama City she was a member of the Palo Alto Church of Christ. She was an avid shell collector and an active member of the Gulf Coast Shell Club. Each family member will forever have their own unique memories of time spent with her, but all will remember her bringing the family together for the many happy Thanksgiving holidays she hosted on St. George Island.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 11 am in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10-11 am prior to the service. A private family interment will follow.
