Grace FitzSimons Jansson, born December 26, 1938 in Newberry, SC, resident of Panama City, FL and former resident of Jacksonville, FL for over 60 years, died in her home with family by her side on December 10th, 2024.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lennart Bertil Jansson.

She is survived by her 3 children, Peter Jansson (Dawn) of Jacksonville, Eric Jansson (Erika) of Austin, TX, and Mary Carmon (James) of Panama City. She was dearly loved and appreciated by her 5 grandchildren, Christopher (Mackenzie), Ella, James, Anders, and Garrett. She is also survived by all her nieces, nephews and their spouses and her dearest best friends from high school.

Grace was the valedictorian of her class of 1957 at Andrew Jackson High School, and followed in kind by being the most ingenious, intelligent and creative person to all who knew her. She always enjoyed a good debate and was a virtuoso in the art of conversation. She enjoyed her world travels with her husband through his career and his duties as a Swedish consulate and later with her family and lifetime friends.

A service will be held at The District Church (Lakeshore Baptist), 2363 Blanding Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32210, on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at 2:00pm, with reception at the church to follow.
