GOVAN CARLOS TOOLE
Govan Carlos Toole, 82, of Panama City, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2011 in his home. He was born to Ollie & Effie Blume Toole on August 13, 1929 in Holmes County, Florida. He graduated from Bonifay High School, Bonifay, FL in 1948. He then entered the insurance profession here in Panama City with the Independent Life & Accident Insurance Co. He advanced to Manager of the Insurance Company in Knoxville, TN and regional manager of Kentucky Central Insurance Co in Lexington, KY and in Dallas, TX. He was a member of the Life Underwriters Ins. Association in Knoxville and served as President of the Association for many years. He was of Baptist faith and accepted Christ as his Saviour at an early age.
He was preceded in death by his parents; loving step-mother, Panzie Toole; son, Shawn Carey Toole; brothers, Marcus, Max, Levoyd and Bobby; brother-in-law, Pete Shirah; sister-in-law, Tom Edd Driggers and husband Malcolm.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Carolyn; daughter, Charlotte Mandell (Alan); son, Gregory Carlos Toole (Katheryn); grandchildren, Joshua and Noah Mandell, Kimberly Toole, Kristina Ballanger (Zack), Erin Favella (Chris); great grandchildren, Blake Favella, Luci Ballanger; sisters, Melba Pannell (Charles), Barbara Mayer (Bill); sisters-in-law, Virginia, Sarah and Geraldine Toole, Irma Shirah; and numerous other dearly loved relatives and friends.
To serve as pallbearers are: Alan and Noah Mandell, Chris Favella, Charles Pannell, Pete Shirah and Ryan Lee. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Clyde Ellison and music by the Rev. Manuel Garcia. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 4 - 6 p.m.
