CAPTAIN GORDON ERNEST McCALL
Captain Gordon Ernest McCall, 80, of Panama City, died, November 24, 2008 in a local nursing home. He was born May 29, 1918 in Millville, Florida. He was a Deputy Sheriff from 1951 to 1954. He became a conservation officer in 1955 and was promoted to Area Supervisor in 1960. He was a member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church, the Parker Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite Order and the Florida Peace Officers Association. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Hamisak McCall and son, Charles Gordon McCall. He is survived by a daughter, Nancy Skinner and husband Chuck, grandchildren, Amanda Gilligan and husband Walter, Brian Skinner, all of Gainesville, Virginia, Brittany Lewis and her mother Angie Lewis, of Panama City, sister, Lovie Davis of Wewahitchka, Florida, and several nieces and a nephew. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jeff Scalf officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 1 to 2 p.m. The family would like to thank Covenant Hospice, the Chester Sims Veterans Nursing Home and the Delta White Unit for their excellent care.
