Glenda Rae Moore Spann, 81, Panama City, FL passed away on Monday July 3, 2017. She was born on February 3, 1936 in Florala, AL to Glen and Rae Moore. In 1958 she graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.  Glenda then went on to work at Wiregrass Hospital and Health Department in Geneva, AL. In 1972 she became an instructor of the ADN Program at Wallace Community College.  She then received a Master's of Science, Counseling and Guidance at Troy State University in 1974. In 1977 Glenda attended UAB Graduate School to receive a Certificate of Advanced Study in Education. She then became the Director of the Associate Degree Nursing Program at Wallace College in 1979. In 1988 she received a Master's degree in Science in Nursing from Troy State University. Glenda retired from Wallace College in 1994 and moved to Panama City Beach. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Joe Frank Moore and Henry Clay Moore. She is survived by her son, Stephen A. Spann (Julie); daughter, Gina Spann Farkas; beloved son-in-law, George Farkas, whom she loved like a son for 30 years; five grandchildren, Brianna Spann, Teresa Rae Farkas, Emma Spann, Austin Moore Spann and Anthony Farkas; sister-in-law, Nancy Lewis Moore. She was a loving Grandmother, Mother, Friend and Mentor. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday July 8, 2017 at 2 pm at Forest Park United Methodist Church. A reception will immediately follow the service. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Forest Park United Methodist Church "Thru the Bible" Sunday School Class in memory of Glenda Spann.
