She married Richard "Dick" Mathews in 1959 and began her life as an Air Force wife, enjoying her busy life as wife and mother of 3 children. During this time, she was active in the Officers Wives Club, the PTA and was an Assistant Girl Scout Troop leader. After being stationed in multiple locations, the family moved back home to Panama City in 1973. Glenda was one of the original Panama City Mall business owners, opening a Merle Norman Cosmetics Studio in 1975, operating it and a 2 nd location on Harrison Avenue along with her mother, Doris Proctor. She retired in 2008 after years of instilling confidence in Bay County women through her expert advice on make-up and fashion in her recurring role on the Around Town noontime tv show, local papers and in her cosmetic studio. She looked forward to her work as head make-up artist for the Red Stocking Review, presented by the Woman's Club every two years. She was a member of the Lynn Haven United Methodist Church, attending services starting in the early 1940's. Glenda was a member of the Panama City Woman's Club, as well as the St. Andrew Bay Yacht Club. There, she discovered the joy of singing on Friday nights with Michael Alford picking the best songs for family and friends. She is survived by three children, Richard "Rick" G. Mathews Jr. (Nicole), Joanna Ford (Don), Ronny Mathews (Cindy); seven grandchildren, Bonnie Sue Warner, Lorrain Mathews, Aurel Mathews, Walker Ford, Daphne Ford, Lindsey Mathews, Ryan Mathews; four great grandchildren, Silas Warner, Jon-Carl Warner, Anna-Bell Warner, Kloie Warner; one brother, Jack Langham (Jan) and several nieces and nephews.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Craig Carter officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service.  Interment will follow in the Forest Lawn Cemetery.  Those desiring may make memorial donations to the Lynn Haven United Methodist Church Building Fund or to Emerald Coast Hospice in memory of Glenda Mathews.
