GLADYS JONES CRAFTON

Gladys Jones Crafton, originally from Andalusia, Alabama and long-time resident of Panama City, passed away August 6, 2006 at age 88. She is survived by her husband, William Crafton, and two children, Dorothy Peak and husband Travis, and John Jones and wife Margie all of Panama City. She was preceded in death by two sons, James and Fred Jones, who are survived by their wives, Ernestine and Jackie, of Andalusia, Alabama. Gladys is also survived by stepchildren, Clifford Crafton and wife Linda, of Louisiana, Carol Walkup, and Carl Crafton, of Missouri, as well as 13 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 3 great, great grandchildren. She was a charter member of Zion Hill Baptist Church in Andalusia, and a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Panama City, where she attended and taught Cornerstone II (Pathfinders) Sunday school. Gladys was devoted to family and friends and will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Zion Hill Baptist Church in Andalusia, Alabama with Rev. Frankie McVay officiating. The body will lie in state at the church 1 hour prior to the funeral service. Interment will follow in the Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of the Emerald Coast, 2925 Martin Luther King Blvd, Panama City, FL 32405 in memory of Gladys Jones Crafton.
