Obituary

Gerald Dwayne Gainer "Cowboy", 74, of Marianna Florida, peacefully passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2017. Gerald was born in Panama City on April 15, 1942.  He graduated from Bay High School in 1960.

Gerald worked as a Pipe Fitter at International Paper Company for 13 years, and then took over the family business, Bob's Top Shop, for 29 years.  He retired in 2001 and then fulfilled his lifetime dream of being a rancher and horse breeder.  He enjoyed roping, hunting, fishing and family.

Gerald is survived by his wife Bessie Gainer, mother Odeal Gainer, daughter Kathie Taylor (Dean), stepson Tommy Meserve, sisters Ann Zediker (Jim) and Glenda Fussell (Bill), Aunt Oliva Simmons, Uncles Loren Gainer and James (Ernie) Gainer, grandchildren, Zachary, Noah and Madison Meserve, and many other family and friends.  Gerald is preceded in death by his father, Robert G. Gainer and Grandparents Carl and Gladys Carter and Lunie and Lewis Gainer.

Visitation will be held at Wilson's Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 from 5:00 – 7:00.  The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 29, at Wilson's Funeral Home Chapel.  Pastor Mike Parker will be officiating and assisted by Pastor Billy Melvin.  Burial will follow at Lynn Haven Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be Dean Taylor, Tommy Meserve, Loren Gainer, Hardrick Thomas, Derek Fussell and Lee Kinard.
