Obituary

George Murtaugh, 88, of Panama City Beach, died March 10, 2008 in a local hospital. He was a retired aerospace engineer, who served in Europe as a paratrooper in World War II from 1943 to 1945. He was a member of the VFW in Panama City, the 82nd Airborne Division Association and the 13th Airborne Division Association. Also, he worked on the Apollo Moon Mission Project at Republic Aviation Corp. from 1963 to 1964. He is survived by his brother, Gordon Murtaugh and wife Lois, nephew, Gordon Murtaugh Jr., niece, Joan Borstell and her husband Peter and their son, Billy, niece, Kathy Ross and her husband Daryl and their children, Ashley, Katie and Grant, nephew, Tom Murtaugh and his wife, Kim and their children, Sean and Reilly, niece, Patty Wise and her husband Craig and their children, David and Emma. Graveside services will be held Friday at 10:15 a.m. in the Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, Florida. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m.
