GEORGE AULRED GILL
George Aulred Gill, 94, of Panama City, passed away Sunday, February 14, 2010. He was born May 21, 1915 in Escatawpa, Mississippi to John and Mary Gill. He was Protestant by faith. He retired from the International Paper Company after 42 years of service. He was a member of the Parker Masonic Lodge #142 and the Order of the Eastern Star Parker Chapter #96. He was Past Master of Parker Masonic Lodge and served as Worthy Patron of the Parker Chapter on numerous occasions. Mr. Gill was a Past District Deputy Grand Master of the 4th Masonic District and was an honorary member of several Masonic Lodges in the 4th and 6th District. His passing will leave a tremendous void in the Masonic and Eastern Star Order. He was preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his wife, Opal Lewis Gill; son, John Gill and wife, Hazel; daughter, Mary Elizabeth "Beth" Broxton and husband, Grady; five granddaughters, Tambra Gill Shoupe and husband, Eddie, Katrina Broxton Keith and husband, David, Sjahn Broxton Large and husband, Craig, Gia Gill, Nelda Smith and husband Durwood; two grandsons, Charles Brannen and wife, Arnetta, Gerald Brannen and wife, Catherine; five great grandchildren, Brock, Gill and Meghan Keith, Tony Shoupe and wife, Tonya, Lori Shoupe Wilkes and husband, Patrick; two great great grandchildren, Brailey Keith, Layton Wilkes; two brothers, Clinton Gill and wife, Bonnie and Adolph Gill and wife, Peggy and numerous loving nieces and nephews. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather and will be dearly missed by his family. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens with Masonic rites conducted at the graveside. The Parker Masonic Lodge #142 will open one hour prior to service time on Thursday. Active pallbearers will be the grandsons-in-law and great grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be all Masons and the members of the Order of the Eastern Star. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6 – 8 p.m. Those desiring may make memorial donations to Covenant Hospice, 107 W 19th Street, Panama City, FL 32405 in memory of George Aulred Gill.
