GEORGE DOUGLAS FONTAINE SR.

George Douglas Fontaine Sr., 49, of Panama City, Florida died October 23, 2006 in his home. He was a registered professional mechanical engineer for Gulf Power Company. He had been a resident of Panama City since 1961, moving here from Panama City, Panama. He was a loving father, brother and son. He attended Holy Nativity Episcopal Church and was a member of Christ Church in Pensacola, Florida. He was a 1975 graduate of Bay High School, a graduate of Gulf Coast Community College, 1979 graduate of Auburn University, where he was a member of the Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity. He was a long time member of the St. Andrew's Bay Yacht, the National Huguenot Society and the Fontaine-Maury Society. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marjorie Wedding Fontaine. He is survived by his children, son, George Douglas Fontaine Jr of Montgomery, Alabama, where he is attending Huntingdon College, daughter, Kristine E.P. Fontaine, father, Charles "Frenchy" Fontaine, sister, Gail Allen and husband Bill, 4 brothers, Tem Fontaine Jr. and wife Lesley, Bill Fontaine, John Fontaine and wife Stacey and James Fontaine and wife Karen, all of Panama City, special friend, Lynn Harris of Pensacola and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Holy Nativity Episcopal Church with Steve Bates officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
