GENEVIEVE CAPELL VICKERY
Genevieve Capell Vickery, 92, of Panama City, passed willingly into the arms of her loving Savior, on Tuesday, December 19, 2006 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 30, 1914 in DeFuniak Springs, Florida. She has been a resident of Panama City since 1941 moving here from Quincy, Florida. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Panama City, the Petti Point Club and served on the Gulf Coast Community College Foundation. She attended the Florida State College for Women. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lelon Vickery and daughter-in-law, Violet Vickery. She is survived by her sons, Robert Lelon Vickery, of Lynn Haven, and Charles Vickery and his wife, Anna, of Tallahassee, daughter, Lydia Vickery, of Atlanta, Georgia, five grandchildren, Craig Vickery and his wife, Kelly, Jason Vickery, Chad Vickery, Caitlin Vickery, Lelon M.(Lee) Perlis, 4 great grandchildren, Andrew Vickery, Austin Vickery, Alec Vickery, Claire Vickery, sister, Margaret Acree, of Pensacola, numerous nieces and nephews and sister-in-law, Martha Vickery Bingham and her husband, Tom. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 1 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Panama City with Rev. David Warren officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6 – 8 p.m. Those desiring may make donations to the First United Methodist Church or to the Gulf Coast Foundation in memory of Genevieve Vickery.
